With all these P2P Programs to download for free I just don’t see how someone can charge for music anymore. I mean there’s 45 of them here just for windows. There’s no format that can’t be ripped, and no encryption that can’t be cracked. Even if the RIAA or MPAA DO wake up and offer a huge library for a monthly fee, how does that change the business model? Before, a few people bought CDs, ripped the songs, and shared them on the ‘net. Now, a few people will pay an even lower fee for the original aquisition, probably skip having to covert the media to software, and STILL distribute it freely over the web. Do you see a difference? I don’t. I think the time for paying for music/etc is coming to an end. Musicians will be able to distribute their own work from home and make their money off concerts and merchandising. Sorry middle-man.
