Ed Felten, the Princeton professor who killed SDMI, is annoying the entertainment industry again.
On his web site, he has published Fritz’s Hit List, a list of unlikely devices that would, under Sen. Fritz Hollings’ s proposed bill (S. 2048), be forced to carry anti-copying technology. Among the devices are:
The Shop With Me Barbie toy cash register
the Sony Aibo robot dog
a Philips digital baby monitor
the Amana Messenger refrigerator
Big Mouth Billy Bass, everyone’s favorite singing fish.
Felten will add one new device each day to the hit list. He also hopes people will send in suggestions.
