http://openwire.sf.net is yet another LimeWire clone. Unlike Freewire or clean LimeWire however, it has got some new and unique features like:
- jabber instant messaging support
- http proxy support
- skin support
- upload queueing
- block spam hosts with a single mouse-click
I don’t want to pretend that I did this all by myself, – skin support and upload queueing were created by LimeWire developers and other open-source developers. LimeWire however chose not to release it yet. For the jabber support I’m using http://www.echomine.org ’s Jabber API.
The reason why I dubbed this an alpha-release is that it’s still under heavy development, although openwire already quite stable.
I posted this news story because I’m looking for people who would test OpenWire and send me some feedback. My Jabber ID is mdsgeist@jabber.org – in case you want to try the jabber stuff.
