As a follow-up to the article posted here, there appears to be even stronger evidence of this soon-to-come paid version of KaZaA, dubbed ‘KaZaA Plus’. Hidden in the KaZaA v2.0 executable are many instances of ‘plus’ features which might very possibly be related to a subscription-based service that Sharman, along with Altnet, is planning to initiate in the near future. Another explanation could be that Sharman Networks will release a separate, more advanced ‘plus’ upgrade version of KaZaA.
Using Resource Hacker, I grabbed all the screenshots I could find regarding this. They are 100% authentic, so if you are in doubt please go ahead and try it yourself (do a search for the string “plus” in reshacker):
Bitmap
Buy Menu
Buy Dialog Box
and the most shocking of them all,
(remember, these are not visible through the KaZaA program except through a resource hacker).
At this point, it’s very hard to make out what’s in store for KaZaA users or even the entire FastTrack network for that matter. Only time will tell.
