With the release of Kazaa v2, there are clear signs that the paid, ad-free version is coming VERY soon.
I have found those two evidence:
Kazaa v2′s start page is:

As you can see, the end of the URL is “noad=0″, meaning that there are plans for an ad-free start page, which will have “noad=1″ (1 for “yes”, or “enabled”) at the end of its URL.
Another evidence is Kazaa v2′s new Quick Guide. Look closely at the screenshots on this page – There are no ads.
Also, Kazaa v2 features a rather dumb way to give users points in order for them to get higer in download queues – it’s called “My Participation Level”, and you’re supposed to get higher participation points when you rate a file that you have on your hard drive. However, even after I rated 27 files, My participation points dropped to 38 after about an hour (started with 100). Getting the paid version would probably give you plenty of Paricipation points…
Now what do you say guys, do you think that in a week we’ll see how all clients under version 2.0 will get kicked out of the network, together with Grokster and iMesh, just like Sharman did to Morpheus?
