News.com reports on the continuing efforts of the recording industry to limit what you can do with music that you own. Cactus Data Shield attempts to stop potential pirates from illegally distributing music files across the internet. Midbar plans on releasing 3 different versions of the secure CDs: CDS-100 plays on normal CD players, CDS-200 plays on PCs and CD players and third CDS-300 PC/CD and it also lets people download music stored on the CD to a computer hard drive. *sigh* When will they learn?
