The RIAA has had a long running suit against P2P swapping service Madster (formally known as Aimster). A critical state was reached in the case last week when the judge granted a preliminary injunction against Madster
. The judge gave the RIAA a week to come up with a practical method that would allow Madster to operate while not infringing on copyrights. Today, the RIAA submitted a 101 page response to this request.
The submission said that Madster could implement a technology that would ‘filter in’ only licensed works, today’s technology is capable of recognizing whether certain files offered by a user are authorized to be made available for others to download.
