RIAA & MPAA Vs FastTrack:
At the start of this week the RIAA & MPAA filled for a summary judgement in the FastTrack case. The content of the documents they said were a result of a 6 month investigation into FastTrack. However, the content of submission was not revealed until today.
The Submission contains internal e-mails, message board postings, and interviews from the companies been sued. The submission said employees of StreamCast admitted downloading pirated material and
StreamCast used screenshots of pirated material been downloaded. More interestingly the submission revealed an internal e-mail between StreamCast and those who run the FastTrack protocol. StreamCast asked we want to monitor if possible are the files that that users download, so that we can track copyrighted material. They responded saying OK, As I’ve mentioned we’ve designed a system for this, but it’s not yet implemented. It could be quickly, however .
This submission is regarded as a last ditch effort by the RIAA and MPAA to prevent the FastTrack case going to proper trial. Read more from
