More Evidence that FastTrack is Controllable

The evidence comes straight from the FastTrack creators!

The FastTrack network was founded by Janus Friis and Niklas Zennström. Since the foundation of the company (originally simply called FastTrack) they have traded under a series of names. This has been part of the clever legal moves. It emerged a while ago that one of the latest names they were giving their company was Blastoise Ltd and they were trading under yet another name called Joltid. It is widely belived that both Joltid and Blastoise Ltd were among the companies that were recently added to the FastTrack Suit.

Anyway, they have now set up a website for Joltid. The principle aim of the website is to sell a content distribution system that is similar to the widley popular FastTrack network. On
this page they tell you how it works. The way it works is exactly how the RIAA and GiFT say FastTrack works. It says that the network needs 4 things to exist: An origin Server (In FT this is each computer connected to the network), Network supernodes, supernodes and network peers. The key thing here is that are stating that it needs network supernodes to manage supernodes. The Diagram displays the network supernode as a server. This is exactly the same way the RIAA said FastTrack works. GiFT who reverse engineered the FastTrack protocol also said that it maintains a list of available supernodes through a server. While Zennström claims that the network is decentralized and to stop the network you have to remove each piece of software from each computer that downloaded any FastTrack client. Something that was also disproved through Zennström’s removal of Morpheus from the FastTrack network.

Zennström and Friis are entering the most important p2p legal battle since Napster on October 1. They have always maintained that this case is different to other legal battles because they could not control the network. Something that is certainly a lie. If Zennström and Friis and their friends
loose this case, the plug can be pulled and FastTrack can join the p2p graveyard.
