Looks like the music industry is getting more and more tangled up in their own rules struggling to get a grip on the internet.
In Germany there is an interesting discussion going on about the online music service Weblisten.com. Is it legit or not?
The German record companies state that Weblisten has no rights to offer mp3 downloads, but apparently that are not too sure. They have gone as far as trying to prevent the news site www.heise.de from publishing an article on Weblisten. How low can you go?
Looks like the contracts that Weblisten signed in 1999 are valid and that the music industry does not know how to deal with this situation.
In the mean time more users discover Weblisten as a place where you can easily download full albums in unprotected mp3 format for a more than reasonable price. This service sure beats MusicNet, Pressplay and Emusic and has been around since 1998!!
