There is a new p2p file sharing protocol/client/network in development, the protocol is called DP2PFTP (The Distributed Peer 2 Peer File Transfer Protocol) the client is called Sphere and the network name is yet to be decided.
The protocol will be a state of the art true peer 2 peer system. This protocol will allow users using compatible clients to access the network without the need of a central server. Users will be able to Share/Search for any file type, Users will be able to Join/host chatrooms, engage in private conversations.
The network will feature a totally new concept not present in any other P2P network in the world which will be called ‘Service Sharing’ You will be able to share services with people around the world, from hosting your own websites, let hundreds of users know your running IRC/Napster/Gaming servers and much more
