Excite@Home snoops on user downloads

ZNet UK is reporting that “The company is scanning its customers’ Internet activity and says it will terminate the accounts of those users who are downloading pirated material.” Also related to this article on Salon about a user whose account was suspended by Time Warner Cable for allegedly posting a movie to usenet. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? I guess that’s only when convenient.
