Chronicle of Higher Ed.: Copyright as Cudgel

The Chronicle of Higher Education has a new commentary article, titled “Copyright as Cudgel,” with some interesting things to say about the concept of copyright from when it began to its use today. The article was written by Siva Vaidhyanathan, an assistant professor of information studies at the University of Wisconsin at Madison, assistant professor of culture and communication at New York University this fall. He is the author of “Copyrights and Copywrongs: The Rise of Intellectual Property and How It Threatens Creativity.”
