Apple has released QuickTime media player version 6 (final) for OS9/X and for Windows 98 or higher. The main update comes with the adoption of the open-standard MPEG-4 playing and autoring. This player comes as Microsoft releases some detalis about Windows Media Player Series 9 which will use codecs that will only work with Microsoft licenseing.
