Japan takes online distribution forward

While the MPAA is bent on keeping their media content off the Internet it seems the Japanese companies are doing the opposite.

According to Japan Today, Yahoo Japan Corp is offering free TV dramas on its portal site. A number of firms are planning to distribute movies on the net at low prices for limited-time viewing.

It brings this thought whether or not international countries will become the leader in Internet technology while America lags behind in its legal woes. The news article can be read here.
