There has been much speculation recently that the RIAA
were about to expand their lawsuit against the companies involved in FastTrack. They now have…
They are already suing
- Grokster Ltd (owners of Grokster)
- KaZaA BV (Former owners of KaZaA and the FastTrack protocol)
- Streamcast Networks (Former owners of a FastTrack licence through Morpheus)
Now the RIAA have added
- Sharman Networks (current owners of KaZaA)
- Niklas Zennstrom (creator of FastTrack and former owner of KaZaA)
- Janus Friis (creator of FastTrack and former owner of KaZaA)
- and three companies linked to Sharman or Zennstrom and Friis
Who are these 3 companies? I would speculate that they are Blastoise Ltd
(current owners of the FastTrack protocol), Altnet INC (owners of a FastTrack licence
that is operated through KaZaA), and possible Brillant Digital Entertainment (who own 51% of Altnet Inc)
or even iMesh?
