BadBlue version 1.7.3 released

BadBlue 1.7.3 combines the functions of a tiny Windows web server, Gnutella servent and Microsoft Office transcoder. As a web server, BadBlue fully supports HTML, Mime-types and CGI extensions like PHP. In fact, because of this support, BadBlue appears to be the first servent that supports PHP as a language; and the BadBlue user interface can be completely customized.

The new version strengthens the linkage between PHP and peer-to-peer. It now includes the ShareOffice library makes it easy to fetch web pages (e.g., to perform a BadBlue P2P search) and to read MS Office files. With the included PHP source code, it supports the following functions:

- read an entire Excel spreadsheet into an array in a single function call from a local or even a remote PC

- read an Access table or query in a single call from a local or a remote PC

- update an Excel spreadhseet cell with a single call on a local or a remote PC

- read a web page (even password-protected) in a single call
