Want to get better sound from your MP3-loaded PC? On Tuesday, Tech Report posted a very informative sound card round-up, complete with a “PC sound 101″ introduction and covering six cards: Hercules Gamesurround Muse XL, Hercules Gamesurround Fortissimo II, Turtle Beach Santa Cruz, Philips Acoustic Edge, Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live!, and Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy. The article does summarize their testing methods and the Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy card doesn’t do 24-bit/96KHz sound as Creative claims.
