Found this on slashdot about this Yahoo article about Altnet which is used by programs on the Fasttrack network.
One part of Altnet is called TopSearch which is sponsored listing which companies will pay to promote their goods & services which will appear faster than normal search results and at the top of the result list.
The other part is the Alnet Resource Network which will allow Alnet to rent out users excess computer resources to those who choose to be a part of it. Which users will earn “points” by participating will be able to cash in the points they use on goods and services.
