The release of Eminem’s album was put forward due to it’s wide availability
on p2p networks. An official statement reads Due to rampant illegal
bootlegging and internet piracy the release date of ‘The Eminem Show’
has been pushed up to May 28
.

Record industry bosses have been looking
at various ways at stopping releases hitting the net before store release
including giving promo releases to a more limited number of people and having
more difficult to break copy protection inbuilt in promo releases. This
latest effort seems to be to cut times between promo’s and store releases.
