A post by internal betatester MrMario64 in the eDonkey forums reveals some new inside info about what we can expect from the upcoming eDonkey release.
I really hate some people that can only bitch and write only negative shit…. Probably one of the reasons why it is not very encouraging to post in here…
but ok… here are some small details for te ones that I do like
1. The new stuff swamp is working on is serverless
2. Setting up a new network is not done overnight, so give the man a break
3. It will not connect to the old donkey servers
4. there is no central server, it is completely serverless
5. donkey is at it’s limit, the new stuff can handle millions of users online.
6. The reason that it’s better than kazaa is the fact that it uses MFTP to download. Like edonkey.
7. It will be faster cause edonkey now suffers from slow server response.
8. It will have a new GUI
9. searches are spread to all users
10.the tests are done with commandline, this is the best for debugging the protocol first.
11. It will support links (Wic-Net compatible)
so yeah, this is gonna rock
And testing is done regularly.
