Apple announced today a 128GB version of the iPad with retina display available for purchased on February 5th.
Great news for everyone who has filled up all 64GB of their iPad. Apple has just announced the release of their newest model of retina iPad which will have 128GB of storage space. As with all the models of the iPad, the 128GB will be available with WiFi or WiFi with Cellular. Customers can choose from black or white models.
Apple has decided to expand the storage space as more and more people and businesses begin to rely on the iPad for various solutions. Over 85 percent of Fortune 500 companies are deploying or testing the iPad for their business. Companies are using apps that require high amounts of data like CAD files, X-rays, music tracks, film edits, project blueprints, training videos and more. Regular consumers will also benefit from the doubled space since there are over 300,000 native Apple apps and 800,000 total apps available for the iPad with Apple releasing more daily.
Aside from the increased capacity, the 128 GB iPad there are no other significant changes to the model. It will still come with a 9.7″ retina display, Apple-designed A6X chip, HD camera, and the new iOS 6.1. The 128GB iPad will be available February 5 in the US. The WiFi only version will cost $799 and the WiFi/Cellular model will cost $929. You can purchase your 128GB iPad at at the online Apple store, Apple retail stores and select Apple authorized resellers. If you don’t have the kind of money to spend on the 128GB, the fourth generation iPad is still available in the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB flavor. The 128GB iPad will hit stores four days before Microsoft‘s Surface Pro is released on February 9th. Coincidence? We think not.
