Pirate Bay Down for Everyone, but “Ship Will Sail Again Tomorrow”

Doesn’t specify why, but promises it will “get the ship sailing again” sometime “tomorrow.”

Every time Swedish BitTorrent tracker site The Pirate Bay goes down it seems the entire BitTorrent world holds its collective breath. A little over 10 hours ago the site went down again for everyone, everywhere, and once again the community got nervous, mainly because this means even the proxies aren’t working, and that a feared total shutdown of the site is in effect.

So what’s going on?

According to people connected to The Pirate Bay everything is okay, and that it’ll be back online sometime “tomorrow.”

“Yes, we’re down,” they acknowledge. “But not out! :PpPPpPpP.”

“Hrm.. ok. Anyway. Some tech problems. Everyone is pulling everey [sic] string, cutting red wires and shit, to get the ship sailing again.”

“ETA: tomorrow,” they add.”

Without skipping a beat, and likewise serving to further assuage peoples fears that the site might be down for an extended period of time, the crew goes on to solicit suggestions for which artist it should feature next in its ongoing Promo Bay campaign.

“Meanwhile, which artist should we promote next weekend?” they write. “Select your favorite at www.promobay.org and post the youtube link in the comments below. Will metal win the promo battle against ze german dubstep?”

In the meantime, until the site returns, check out one of our recommended alternatives.

Stay tuned.
