Lenovo Brings Two Smartphones Over to Russia

Lenovo is now offering the S880 and P700i models in Russia in order to expand their overseas market.

Earlier this month Lenovo began offering two of their smartphone models, S880 and P700i, to Russia. Lenovo is China’s second largest vendor of smartphones and now, with Russia, has 5 overseas markets including India, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines. While Lenovo currently does not have any sales targets for the Russian market, they are aiming to achieve top-five status within a couple years.

Lenovo has surpassed HP as the world’s largest PC Maker, and they intend to dominate the smartphone market as well. Lenovo first introduced a touch-screen handset in China in 2010 and have expanded aggressively in emerging-market consumers. This is in thanks to their excellent price points as well as aiming at large markets where they can achieve scale as buyers switch from feature phones.

While the company is still the number two smartphone maker (behind Samsung), their numbers are rapidly increasing. In this year alone, Lenovo has doubled their revenue to $1.31 billion with total sales increasing 11 percent to $8.67 billion. The S880 and P700i are priced at $350 and $270 respectively. For those in Russia deciding on which to buy, Below are the key features for each phone:
