Free app for jailbroken iPads lets you download movies or TV shows directly to your device or simply watch them online for FREE.
It’s all about content when it comes to portable media devices like the iPhone or iPad, and that’s why iTunes has made them both hugely successful. For those looking for free alternatives to Apple’s superstore there are a-plenty to choose from.
In the last few days I’ve mentioned several: Torrent Player and Stream Shire. The former both downloads and streams content while the latter is streaming only. Now there’s a new app for jailbroken iPads (easy-to-follow guide here) called Movie Box that also allows you to do like Torrent Player does, and both download and stream your favorite movies and TV shows.
“Amazing collection of Movies and TV-shows,” writes the developer, that goes by the name iYojik. “Absolutely free. You can download the movies on your device or watch online.”
Movie Box offers a huge selection of movies and TV shows that iYojik says is growing over time.
“Every week we add new movies to the database,” he adds. “We are working to improve the quality of some films.”
So how do you install it? It’s easy.
1. With your jailbroken iPad (easy-to-follow guide here) open the Cydia app store and search for “Movie Box.”
2. Tap “Install” and “Confirm” buttons at top-right corner.
3. Return to Cydia after install.
4. Close Cydia and open Torrent Player on your home screen.
Using Movie Box is fairly straightforward and the selection of content is rather robust.
With Movie Box now you have another means of getting quality content for free.
