Jailbreak tweak gives your iPhone international location services so that you can can use Siri in unsupported countries outside of the US.
One of the coolest features that was incorporated in the iPhone 4S is Siri, the built-in speech recognition tool that lets you use your voice to send messages, schedule meetings, place phone calls, and more.
“Ask Siri to do things just by talking the way you talk,” notes Apple in a features list for the device. “Apple Siri understands what you say, knows what you mean, and even talks back. ”
One of the problems with Siri, however has been a glaring lack of international location services so that you could use Siri as Apple intends. So whether you’re travelling abroad or simply “unfortunate” enough to live outside the US your out of luck that is, unless you use the International Locations for Siri iPhone jailbreak tweak.
Available as a plugin for AssistantExtensions (free), International Locations for Siri finally allows you to extend the power of Siri beyond US shores.
So how do you get it working? It’s easy.
1. Jailbreak your iPhone. I’ve written a detailed, easy-to follow guide that takes just a few minutes and is ABSOLUTELY FOOLPROOF.
2. Search for, download, and install AssistantExtensions from the Cydia store app that appears on your new Springbaord.
3. Search for, download, and install International Locations for Siri. It’s supposed to cost $0.99 cents, but you can also get it for free by opening the Cydia the store and navigating to Manage > Sources > Edit > Add “http://repo.hackyouriphone.org/“ to your list.
That’s all it takes to broaden Siri’s horizons.
Stay tuned.
