Why don’t RIAA get it over with and sue the internet itself, all means of communicating – since any communication may contain copyrighted material and helping people communicate is accessory to copyright infringement.

As long as our lawmakers create stupid laws (copyright), and judges goes along with this (interpreting creating services or software as “accessory”) the MAFIAA will pursue this with everything they got. Only reason they aint going after the mail service – yet – is because that would seem silly to most people. Yet.

RIAA will never be able to KILL off all software that could be used to download MEDIA / BROADCAST, ETC
WHY? Because not all software is flying around on the internet listed in HTML FILES… Some are in PACKAGES [distributed privately & is FREEWARE = ALTERNATE OS USER] and of course I do happen to have YAHOO-DL [my os does the PYTHON method of software names] = YAHOO DOWNLOADER, MOV-DL = MOVIE DOWNLOADER, MP3-DL = MP3 DOWNLOADER, etc…
AND…. Here is the HUGE catch…
I would let them sue me every which way… AND they would never collect a penny…
WHY?
IN NY STATE if your income is…
Welfare, SSD, SSI, Workers Comp, SS [less than $15,000 per yr] the gov is not going to give you support $$ to be spent on LAW SUITS and thus you do not have to pay any lawsuits & you can not be pout in jail for failure to pay because of your income status.

THUS US LOWLIFE’s will keep things flowing forever….

This is great. Homeowners should sue hardware stores for selling screwdrivers to prevent burglaries. /s

People make their own audio and video recordings, and need tools to manipulate them. Youtube download tools let you backup your channel, and retrieve videos for non-infringing fair use applications like making gifs; significant legal non-infringing use.

I think the content industries are more concerned that the general public is finding entertainment produced by amateur non-industry sources entertaining. The removal of the tools will make that much more difficult for many people.

Given a choice between industry produced content and independent content, I pick independent content every time. I think that’s their real concern; just another way to temporarily prop up a dying industry.
