ST Proxy Switcher: Free Program for Quick Switching Between Proxy Servers

Program lets you switch between proxy servers from a number of countries with ease.

VPNs and proxy servers are two of the most essential tools in any Internet user’s toolkit. Each provides an extra layer of much needed privacy and allows users to bypass arbitrary geographic content restrictions.

VPNs are rather easy to configure, perhaps VyprVPN most of all, but proxy servers require a bit of legwork and trial and error to find a suitable one. That’s why ST Proxy Switcher is such a great program. Free, and easy-to-use, the program lets you quickly switch between proxy servers in multiple countries.

You can switch, enable, disable, manage, and download a proxy server list in just a few clicks.

Features include:

  • Hide Your IP and Stay Anonymous
  • Stay anonymous when you are surfing the Internet. Hide your IP, country and details from web sites.
  • Public and free proxy list in built-in and easy to use download manager.
  • Easy-to-use proxy checker enable you to verify the proxy status, country, response time and most important the anonymously level.
  • Change Your Proxy Settings in a Click
  • Select the proxy you want to use and activate it to multiple browsers.

So how does it work? It’s easy.

First we need to download lists of proxy servers. Choose which level of anonymity you’d prefer. Keep in mind that SOCKS allows nearly every application to be tunneled through it while HTTP is specialized for HTTP, though it can sometimes be used for other stuff as well. If both HTTP and SOCKS are available use SOCKS – they’re faster.

Once you’ve download the list you need to verify the connections to make sure they’re active and working. Highlight the addresses and then select the globe icon on the toolbar. Select “Check” to begin the verification process.

Select “Done” when it’s completed and choose one of the “Alive” connections to connect to.

Afterwards, to verify your connection, Google “What is my IP address.” As you can see I’m now routing my HTTP traffic through a proxy server in Mexico D.F.

…which oddly enough has an ISP that blocks this very site – ZeroPaid.com. You have to appreciate the irony.

It runs in Windows XP, Vista, Windows-7 and supports Internet Explorer, Chrome, Maxthon2, Safari, and Opera.

Note: During installation it will ask you if you want to install and adware toolbar so be sure to select “decline.”

Stay tuned.
