musicIntellect is the smart way to download music. This brand-new free music download service offers way more than just legal downloads - it is a way of exploring new kinds of music through our unique recommendations and suggestions.

There are more than 39000 of your favourite bands with free music available for download with musicIntellect. Use our easy-to-use software to find music you like, and we will recommend new music to you based on your tastes and preferences. You can use musicIntellect as a mp3 player, or you can listen to your music on a portable device like an iPod. musicIntellect is not p2p software - nobody will be connecting to you, or downloading anything from you. musicIntellect is not spyware. musicIntellect is free, and DRM-free too.

If you are wondering what kind of music you can download with musicIntellect, the answer is we have a massively eclectic range available.  You can find promo tracks released by big-name artists, tracks released by smaller independant labels, music from unsigned musicians, and lots of music that is available only on the internet.

All of the music is legally made available, for free. If you aren't sure what you are looking for, you can use our recommendations to guide you towards some music you will like.  Once you find a band you like, we can help you even more by suggesting other similar bands that we think you will like.

Getting started with the musicIntellect program:

• Getting started - just click on "connect to server"
• When you are connected, you will see the main search window. If you know what you are looking for - maybe part of the title of a song, or a name - you can type it in here and hit "Search for music".
• When you find a track that you are interested in, just click on it.  If you like, you can click on "Find Similar artists" to see a list of bands that are similar to the one you are searching for.  The red ones at the top of the list are most similar, the black ones at the bottom are great if you want to explore further afield.  There are free tracks available for all of them - just click on a name if you want to check them out.
• You can download the track straight away, or you can choose to do something else like look for more tracks by the same artist, or search with Google.
• If you choose to download the track, you can see your download progress in the bottom left corner. If you are already downloading something, the new download will just join the queue and will be downloaded in turn.
• When your download has finished, you can use musicIntellect to play the track too. Just click on "My Music", and click on the track you want to hear.
• If you are not sure exactly what you are looking for, you can try our recommendations. Just click on "recommendations", then pick one of the categories. Currently they are Electronic & Dance, Urban, Rock and everything else.
• Once you have chosen a category, you will see our recommendations. The pictures might take a moment to load, if this is the first time you have looked at them. If you see something interesting, just click on it.
• If you search for a short word that shows up in a lot of different band names and song titles, you will probably get a long list of tracks.
• If you like, you can make the search more direct by saying you are only interested in a certain type of music.
