Overseeding was banned because it prevented other users from being able to improve THEIR ratios. One person sits on a seed and everyone else that gets it gets less of a return when THEY try to seed, and THEIR ratios suffer as a result. It was intended to help people, and it did.
When a seed wasn't well supported, users were not punished for 'overseeding', as they were the only ones keeping a seed alive at that point. That happened with me... I seeded TONS on particular torrents, but never heard a peep from admin because they recognized the reason I was doing what I was doing.
From what I've seen, most people complaining about thebox simply didn't bother to understand the rules, or the reasons for them. While some individuals may have been rude in enforcing the rules (i have no idea), that doesn't mean the rules themselves were bad or at all unreasonable.
You can see how people like JazzyJ-whatever behave... Their shameful threat shows EXACTLY how much the true sharing spirit informs them. They had a bad experience (or they say they did) and they screw over almost a hundred thousand people in order to get their "revenge"
People like THAT are the problem.... Ruin something amazing because you got your widdle fee-fees hurt. That's some real class and integrity, that is. If only people were more like you, JazzyJman, then we wouldn't have any problems at all (as there would be no torrents)
Doesn't matter anymore. At this point, thebox is dead.... Long live thebox!!!

TheBox.bz is run by power hungry control freaks! Horribly strict rules and regulations enforced by a group of people that will make the SS Wehrmacht look like little kittens.
They do not allow you enough time to upload and than completely ban you.
Listen to how JazzyJMan was treated as a longtime user, horrible...
thebox.bz has lots of Brit torrents, but the staff are the rudest dickheads on the planet. I followed all their rules for 3 years, became a power user...then, one day, some bogus stat ended up in their log saying I downloaded 178 GB in a few hours. First, the torrent I was downloading was 7 GB. Second, my 'net connection won't download anywhere near that fast. Obviously either the client or their tracker screwed up massively. My problem. Lost everything, no recourse, screw me in the butt. After two weeks I get one response in broken English asking if I know who was in my apartment. Basic logic isn't their strength. How do you download 178GB from a 7 GB torrent in a few hours? If someone used my computer, it would show their torrents. Do they think I downloaded and deleted and redownloaded it 20 TIMES in A FEW HOURS??? Like I said, if only my connection could come anywhere near that. So, the account is hosed, and no one gives a damn. That was after pussy footing around for 3 years to avoid their maze of rules and regs. They act like their pedantic crap is obvious and that everyone is trying to rip them off. You will never meet a ruder crew of wankers.
They'll get theirs though. I work at dotster. The day I quit, whenever that is, I'm going to take thebox.bz's reg data- held by dotster- and publish it everywhere. Wanna be dickheads? Fine.
The problem I have with this site is that they arent monitoring my uploads at all and then claiming that I am not uploading, and I know its not a technical error cause my bakabt uploads are trucking along quite nicely! My advice is start up all the torrents you can right away so that you get everything you want.As of right now I have shared another 10 GB on Baka and yet still zero on this site even tho I am watching the torrents I downloaded on vuze saying seeding!
I have tried to get onto this site and when I put my information my email address and the password I cannot get into this site as I am an old man of 76 years young and just started saving old tv seriesto disk shown how to do this by my grandson I do know how to download but do not know anything about uploading leslie orrah
Nonsense. Sour grapes from someone that didn't bother to understand the rules - rules that were well thought out and intended to help the maximum number of people. The rules were solid... Your performance was not.
I'm sorry (genuinely) that you had a bad experience, but blaming thebox for it is unjustified and silly.
@contactcomm1 Spot on. I got my revenge though by using a proxy and opening a new account...now that I know the gotchas! Well, not all of them, but this really makes our point. So, I managed to get one warning email even this time, knowing the rules. My offence? Over seeding!!! Yup. Seeded TOO MUCH to them. They will find a way to make ANYTHING a problem. I mean, that's one that could be dealt with with a bit of courtesy, no? Lots of nasty hackers out there over seeding... Sheesh.I've 12 invites if anyone needs them!
Shame on you.
