Eudora

Eudora is a new version of the popular email software for Windows users. Mac Eudora is available in version 6.2. Version 7 introduces Ultra-Fast Search. Results are now 20-100's of times faster than before. The new features of Eudora will help you better manage your email and increase productivity.

Also new, in Eudora is BossWatch, a feature that alerts you to the presence of designated addresses in the To or Cc fields. IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) users will enjoy greatly increased performance as well as increased off-line capabilities. For enterprise users, Eudora adds S/MIME (Secure Multi-purpose Internet Mail Extensions) plug-in capability.

Here are just some of the many features included in Eudora:

  • Ultra-Fast Indexed Search: Even with decades of archives containing hundreds of thousands of entries, Eudora 7 finds results instantaneously. Click here for video!
  • BossWatch: Ever use Reply-All and wish you hadn't? BossWatch will make you more aware of the email addresses in a list.
  • Remote Access: IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) provides remote access to email. IMAP users will enjoy greatly increased performance, as well as the ability to file their mail even when off-line.
  • Security: The S/MIME (Secure Multi-purpose Internet Mail Extensions) plug-in allows you to sign or encrypt your email communications for greatest security.
  • ScamWatch: This new feature combats "phishing" schemes that use disguised URL's to gather personal information. Eudora now detects if the URL in the link differs suspiciously from the host name and warns you to exercise caution before making the connection.
  • OpenSSL: The state-of-the art standard in email security and encryption.
  • Improved IMAP: Improved functionality to synchronize and access email from multiple computers and locations.
  • Emoticons: 24 new originally designed emoticons (not in Light mode).
  • SpamWatch: (Paid mode only) SpamWatch is a powerful tool in Eudora 6 and higher to help you stop Spam (Paid mode users only).
  • WebWords: WebWords combines email and web searching.
  • Content Concentrator: Content Concentrator is a new tool in Eudora 6 to help make messages more readable.
  • Contextual Filing advanced matching: Select a word within a message, and with one click, file it in a folder or mailbox of the same name, or containing that word. A word or words selected within a message can be filed with a single click in a folder or mailbox that contains the same words.
  • Improved Outlook importer: (Windows) Easily imports mail, addresses and attachments from Outlook to Eudora, making switching to Eudora easier than ever.

The system requirements of Eudora include:

  • A PC running Microsoft Windows 98/2000/ME/XP
  • OR a Macintosh running Mac OS X or later
  • A POP3 or IMAP4 mail account via an Internet Service Provider or a network connection
  • Access to your mail account via PPP dial-up networking using a modem or a TCP/IP Internet-style network connection
