New service Giggem allows musicians to find and connect with other musicians, managers and other industry professionals. Even in this day and age it can be difficult to find the right band members that have the same style and interests. Trying to find band members can take weeks as musicians must sift through all the potential candidates and figure out if applicants can actually play. Giggem, a new musician matchmaking service, hopes to make the entire music-making process that much smoother. Musicians can create their profile on Giggem that highlights their interests, instruments they play, what they are looking for and can even include some videos, audio tracks and photos of their performance. These profiles basically function as on online portfolio for these musicians.

Pandora releases a new browser-based interface for TVs that will run semi-natively on the Xbox360 and PS3. For those that happen to have an Xbox 360 or PS3, you might be happy to hear that these two consoles now support the new HTML-5 based Pandora interface for TVs. This newest version of Pandora is part of the company’s larger goal to become as widespread as radio is today. In order to achieve their goal, Pandora has been focusing on the home market. Google has unveiled the Google Play Music All Access service at their I/O that will directly compete with other on-demand music services like Spotify. For those not paying careful attention to the news, today marks Google’s I/O conference where they have already made dozens of announcements regarding their products. One of the announcements today was the launch of an on-demand subscription music service called Google Play Music All Access. The new Google Play Music All Access is built on Google’s already existing music store for Google Play. The service features a recommendation engine that will guide users towards new music they may not have already discovered by listing tracks from artists users already have in their library.

Spacebar app streams the audio from a concert in real-time directly to users iOS mobile device for the price of a couple dollars. Whether you don’t have enough time to go to a concert or simply are not in the area, it’s always a letdown when you cannot see your favorite band perform. Luckily a new iOS app called Spacebar may be able to solve this problem for music lovers out there. The idea behind Spacebar is to let artists earn more money from their concerts. Musicians that sign up with Spacebar’s app only need to connect their mobile device to the soundboard at their concert. The app then streams the concert real-time for all the fans who could not make it.

BBM Music Will Officially Shut Down June 2nd

Blackberry will begin phasing out BBM Music in April with complete shutdown of the music streaming service June 2nd. For anyone who owns a Blackberry and subscribes to their BBM Music service you may be saddened to hear that Blackberry music has announced that they are pulling the plug on the music service on June 2nd. Subscribers will receive their final bill in April and Blackberry will begin phasing out the music service in May. For those that are unfamiliar with the service, BBM Music, unlike other music streaming services such as Rdio and Pandora, was more of a social music service. The cloud-based service was intended to let users create an ever-changing library of music that could be shared with other BBM Music users. For $4.

Spotify Announces Integration Deal with LG for Media Players

Spotify announced that they have struck an integration deal with LG to offer Spotify premium services on a range of connected LG media devices. LG and Spotify have announced that the popular streaming service will be available on all LG smart media products released this year. In addition, users in the United States, Europe, Australia and New Zealand will be able to download the Spotify app to a handful of existing hardware with Internet access next month. In order to access the service, consumers will need a premium subscription. While normally priced at $9.99, LG will offer new customers a free one-month trial. Afterwards customers must agree to the monthly payment plan.

Pandora Now Available on Windows Phone 8

Pandora is now available on all Windows 8 phone and will offer users an ad-free experience until the end of 2013. Back in October of 2012, Microsoft announced that the Pandora App would be available for their Windows Phone 8 and offer one full year of unlimited, ad-free music. Five months later, Pandora has finally hit Windows Phone 8 and is now one of the many music streaming apps like Spotify and Rdio. The Pandora app for the Windows Phone 8 will be offer several exclusive features that will not be found on other mobile devices.
