Control how long you want your tweets to be visible to the world at large. We sometimes forget that by using social networking sites we put tremendous amounts of information out there for anybody to see and collect. Taken individually the stuff we create is not always sensitive information, but over time, and taken as a whole, it cane be. Also, as we age and our lives change we don’t necessarily want past thoughts and observations to come back and haunt us. Stuff we thought was witty and cool to tweet about back in our teens will usually make us look downright foolish later on, especially to prospective employers or college admission deans.

A roundup of the top 5 free Android music apps for finding and downloading free music online. The great thing about smartphones these days is that they’ve basically become portable computers, empowering users with the ability to listen to and watch pretty much anything they want to on-the-go. For many this means there’s a dire need for finding content online, preferably free, and especially music in particular. There’s a number of free Android music apps that allow users to download songs as one would with any other run of the mill P2P app. The only difference is that you can’t share music, making music downloading far safer than on a desktop PC because one can’t be accused of distributing copyrighted material.

Free program lets you analyze and verify the authenticity of Facebook users before you add them to your list of friends. There are tons of fake Facebook profiles out there, and for the most part, they are almost impossible to verify for authenticity unless you really know what you’re doing and what you’re looking for. FB Checker is a FREE program that lets you quickly and easily verify the authenticity of Facebook users before you add them to your list of friends. It’s simple to use, and takes less than a minute to complete. So how does it work? 1. Download and install FB Checker. 2. Open and log in to your Facebook Account. 3. Open FB Checker by clicking on its icon in the system tray. Now go to a Facebook profile you’d like to verify.

Two years after its official launch, Earbits launches its free music discovery service on the android – its first mobile product. Unlike traditional music apps, like Spotify, that do not allow much interaction with users, Earbits hopes to engage both musicians and their fans. Two years after launch, Earbits has finally released their very first mobile app, available only on Android devices. The main draw for Earbits over other music apps the interaction between musicians and fans. Not only can musicians promote themselves and fans can promote their favorite musicians through Facebook and Twitter. The app keeps this and many other key functions from the website and adds some new features.

Being able to access content whenever and wherever you want is one of teh driving forces of BitTorrent Inc., and it’s just taken a product called BitTorrent Sync live that makes that process even easier for users. BitTorrent Sync allows you to automatically synchronize any number of folders and files of any size across multiple devices using secure, distributed technology.

Amazon’s reported purchase of Siri-like Evi App for $26 million points to development of a mobile handset/smartphone. Siri‘s success has spawned numerous copycats, however among the most successful was Evi. True Knowledge, a British Startup, utilized their natural language search engine along with Nuance’s voice recognition to create Evi. When Evi first came out on the iPhone, it was almost pulled from the app store due to its similarity to Siri. Luckily, Apple allowed the app to remain in stores, and it seems that the company’s bold move might have paid off. Reports are circulating that Amazon has purchased the company for $26 million. This acquisition comes shortly after Amazon acquired voice recognition company Ivona.

In order to make the switch from paper to digital even easier, Canvas has just released MyCanvas, a cloud service for their subscribers. MyCanvas is the next step in Canvas’ goal to making paper obsolete for businesses.

Twitter is set to launch a new music service some time this weekend, with many sources suggesting that in-fact today, Friday, could be the intended release day. The idea behind it is to tie in with the Coachella festival, perhaps using the event as a springboard for promotional purposes. We first head about the Twitter music app a month or so ago in an early profile, though it wasn’t clear whether this was a future plan for Twitter or if it already existed. Fortunately Ryan Seacrest was more than willing to spill the beans of the at-the-time not officially announced application.

Chrome extension allows users to encode secret messages in Facebook pics to share with family and friends, protected from prying eyes. Privacy in the digital age is of growing concern these days as govts, corporations, and other individuals are all looking to gather as much as information about you as possible for a wide variety of reasons. From simple information gathering to lucrative financial disclosure intel, they all have their reasons for keeping tabs on what you say and do online, and perhaps no source is more important than Facebook. Facebook tells others where you live and what you do, and even simple messages to family and friends can be seen, captured, and relayed to others.
