Carracho is a really wonderful program, but it works much differently than the file sharing programs you're used to (Limewire, Acquisition etc.) So you have to think of it a bit differently. Carracho is essentially a community of users who allow people running the program to access designated areas of their computers (servers). The servers range from total free-for-alls, where anyone can come in anytime and download anything, to more restrictive servers, where you have to get an account in order to download. Accounts at such servers are given to people who upload something good. There is no "shared folder" in Carracho (unless you're running a server). What you share is what you choose to upload to the servers you visit. It's well worth your while to upload what you need to upload to servers requiring accounts in order to get accounts, as the free-for-all servers are usually so crowded that downloads are extremely slow, and you often have to wait in line to get the download in the first place. If you're willing to put a little time in, you'll find Carracho to be the best file sharing tool out there. The abundance of great files, small and large, on Carracho, cannot be matched by any other program. So take the time to learn it and to gain access to some of the more restrictive servers; you won't regret it! |

i love carracho, i am a proud admministrator of a carracho server.i think carracho is a real "comunity", i love the fact that you can chat with people and get to know them, also this is a great way to find out about more servers, new music, new apps.Carracho is different from other programs because your not "automatilclly" sharing your hard drive or a folder, you have to upload where you are downloading or set up you own server, is that so bad? i think that is whats excpected in a file sharing program...... to share I do agree that its not easy to uderstand the first time u use it, there are lots of steps before u can start downloading and there is no manual to get u started; but once u get it, its great, lots of files: music, movies, apps, almost anythingthe speed depends on your connection, the server's connection, the amount of files ur downloading and the amount of users in the serversBut i guess a lot of people are just too lazy to read the information given to them before entering a server, almost always u can find whats expected of you in that particular serveragain i think carracho is great |

This a great program I had used limewire before and it sucked. I'm on a 56 k modem out in the middle of nowhere and I could never get anything off of limewire. It took a little while to get to know the program. I have used it on os 9 and X and it has work wonderfully. Its great for browsing it take a while to find that file you need. But never worry you will find that file. Over all its great avoid the upload to download servers if your on a modem. But if you have dsl or cable go for the Upload!MerfmobileOh and it didn't take me 2 or 3 hours to set up. it stated plainly what to do in the read me file. |

OK, I've changed my comment from before. If you just take a little bit of time to understand how to use it, then Carracho is by far the best Mac P2P client out there. Though most servers require uploading or an account, there a bunch of free servers with good content and high speeds. You just have to look. |

=== THIS APP IS PURE SHIT ===It's totally unusable. It took me one hour to understand how to download a server list and how to connect to a some servers, and they only had 20 users max!!!Believe me, nothing good is coming out of this $h1tty program.I still haven't understood how to SEARCH and DOWNLOAD files, and I don't think I'll ever do, for I'm about to TRASH this program for good.Usually one of the first things I do when trying new filesharing programs is to set the shared folder(s). Well, to my great surprise, CRAPacho doesn't have any way to set shared folders. What I'm supposed to share then? Isn't this a FILE-SHARING application? Or maybe does it share my WHOLE DRIVE without telling me?This doesn't sound good at all to me.STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHIT. PERIOD. |

I've been gone from the web for almost a year now. I gotta say thatniether Hotline, nor it's bastard child Carracho have changed one bit. The same old song and dance with them... logging onto servers with jerks who act like 5 year olds who don't want to share thier toys. Don't get me wrong theres tons of files......and thats about it. It's not fair mac users have NO good File sharing! Hotline and Carracho are not file sharing, they're free food buffets surrounded by electric gates with guard tower watchmen. Seriously, what the hell is going on? Why can't we have a good program? WHY? And the bias users that always defend these two programs really piss me off. I truly wish something comes along and drives HL and C out of business. The way the program is set up is just not right and is beyond unfairIt's a damn shame, but HL and C have the most files of any macintosh p2p appilcation, and I doubt anyone can say otherwise. If they were REAL file sharing apps and operated the way they're supposed to, it would be the best thing mac ever had. sad. |
