I actually think it is about making yourself happy. Before you call me a self centered idiot, read on. Making others feel better is all fine and good, but in the end, you do it because it makes you feel good about yourself. You like to feel good don't you? That is what I think the meaning of life is. To do what makes you feel good.

Meaning of life=procreation.
Humans are just here to pass their chromosomes to their progeny... before this, the meaning of life is to survive in order to become healthy and have viable gametes. After this, their is no point to life. In many cultures the old walk into the forest and die after they rear their young.
This is just from a biological standpoint, but it is the truth for all animals that reproduce sexually. Then again, I use birth control, so does my life as well as my wife's have no meaning? Perhaps...
I think that a better question than this abstract question that just boils down to faith and belief is, "what makes life meaningful?" This is what people are usually asking and it has an answer unlike the question of the meaning of life.

But what if procreating makes babies happy (because theyre born) therefore, the meaning of life is to make others happy, and to make others- to make happy....
