Question Avi convert to Mpeg problems

When I try to convert a AVi movie file to Mpeg (VCD), I have sound problems. Either I get no sound or it messes up or goes out of sync.
I have tryed encoding with ulead video studio, Pinnacle video studio and TMpgnec, all with the same results.
If anyone has any advise please help.

Yo chico I have the same problem. Everytime I convert a .avi file into vcd with Tmpgnec , video comes out fine but I get no audio. So well maybe this thread wil help me out too. I am using Nerovision currently to convert but I am not satisfied with it, picture comes out blurry and all, not dvd quality although the avi was dvd quality, so I really wana see what could be the problem with tmpgnec too.

Question AVI to MPEG sound problems

When I convert AVI movies to MPEG (VCD), the sound either messes up, goes out of snyc or isn't there.
I've tried extracting the sound separately, using pinnacle VS, ulead VS and Mpgtenc.
My spec is Athlon 2Ghz, 256 DDR, Geforce x2, sound blaster plus.

    SOME COOL SOFTWARE

I found a handy tool that lets you convert Quictime to AVI

    http://www.jhepple.com/convert_apple...ime_to_avi.htm

you need to install a divX codec also.

Now _ another tool i found was TMPGEnc Video Encoder

Now this thing is a handy video encoder _ Its not free but you can buy it or search for it ......... (Cough)

now i have not had any problems - you might want to try them out _ since your all a bunch of cheap basterds.
