    Question could not bind udp socket!

    :santa

    everytime i log into winmx i get the message "could not bind udp socket!" what does this mean? and how can i fix it?

    no one can upload from me--and i want to fix that because i have some pretty awesome songs i want to share.

    Please help!

    Make sure your firewall is turned off or is on and allowing that particular port access.

    Your problem could also be due to a misconfigured router - try mapping your UDP port (default: 6257) using your router software.

    thanks for your input; however i have no idea what is a firewall or router software...i am running windoows 98 and just downloaded winmx. it was running fine for a few days until i added and removed the same path to share. that's when i started getting this message. also, all the songs i have been downloaded since then are in my music folder; but when i go to add them to winamp or musicmatch it shows my folder is empty. I am not computer savvy; and i would appreciate any help i can get.
