Hi,
Could anybody help me with a question about KAZAALITE(k++ version)?
Without running kazaalite, can I simply delete kazaa's partly downloaded *.DAT file, in EXPLORER?
Another question please:
When offline, how can I run kazaa and see my files in "traffic"?
first question---- yes
second question--- not sure
maybe someone else will have the answer for the second:hole

OK for starters, yes you can just delete the dat files if you wish but these ARE your files in traffic that you are DL. As far as seeing those files offline you use the program that should have been installed with K-lite called dat view to check the files you have in your shared folder. Just open the proggy from your tool bar and then navigate to the shared folder and double click the dat file in questiion. The only thing I have found is that the dat view doesn't pick up the file name so you have to remember the size of the file you want to open. I hope that answers your question.
have the traffic view selected before you disconnect. that used to wrok, i dunno if that will still work now. but i dont think the view will change automatically. sharman doesnt know wnough about kazaa to make it any better.Originally posted by wyf51888

Make sure kazaa is not running, then delete the .dat file
If you open kazaa and click on the traffic window fast enough, you can catch it in offline mode, but you have to be FAST, it just took me 3 trys, but I got it

I've deleted some DAT files in EXPLORER, and kazaa always shutdown after it began several minutes. That's why I asked the first question. And maybe it's because I've previewed and copied some DAT with the tool "dat_view" in K++ version.
My OS: win98se
Any idea?
You only messed with the .dat files in the kazaa downloads folder right? some system files in other folders are .dat
Are you saying the program restarts then? Because I don't think thats caused by the .dat files, that sounds more like a virus, or some other error in kazaa

No. There comes an "illegal" popup error--just kind of that usually happens in win98. And this popup cannot be closed unless I press the RESET botton--CTRL+ALT+DEL doesn't work at all !Are you saying the program restarts then? Just now I uninstalled K++2.03 version, then installed K++2.02. It seems to work fine.
Another thing you can do with the .dat files is MOVE them to a directory that you don't share. They won't show up in the TRAFFIC section of kazaa but you also don't lose the information that you already have.
That way, if you ever decide to try and download the files again, you simply COPY them back to your shared directory, restart kazaa and your files will start to download from where they left off.
Nice little trick someone told me about that is great to use when downloading large files.
Great idea! Thanks.
