    Question Help please- I can't install Swapper.msi

I get the message "the advertised application will not be installedbecause it might be unsafe. Contact your administrator to change the installation user interface option of the package to basic." I've been to gpedit.msc but don't know exactly what to do.

Yes. I seem to have problems with msi installations no matter what program but this just doesn't work. I tried to install it from the dos box too and it didn't work out. Could be I'll have to reinstall the msiexec.exe and other dlls but that seems like alot of work and it might not make a difference anyway.

are you logged in as a Adminstrator? If so did you mess with the security settings because from the message it looks like that might be whats causing it.

I've logged in as Administrator, User, and User with full admin rights. There's always some problem but this time it doesn't install at all. I'll check every security option there is to see if someone messed with the settings then I'll go with the corrupt dll theory. It's hard to believe Microsoft has glitches. :mellow

Well.. what version windows do you have? It wasn't til recently when I figured out how to get MSI's to work. I completely uninstalled the .net stuff and reinstalled it and it worked.. I dunno specificaly how I did it but that is basically how.

I have XP with the latest msi installer included. There's a new SP coming up not to mention new a new version of .Net so this should resolve itself one way or another soon enough. Not that many programs use it anyway and til now it's just been a pain that needed 3 tries to install.

Run windowsupdate and make sure you have the latest msi installer core.
