ok i have a pc running xp pro a cable connection (uk blueyonder ) my girlfiend has just got an Imac what is going to be the cheapest way to share the cable modem between the 2 computers thanks in advance
Definately get a router,
You can get one for about 40 pounds, that will also serve as your firewall.
Get a Netgear, or reputable name. I posted a PC Magazine Firewall link a while back, if you can find it, that was very comprehensive. It also showed the performace tests of a few routers.
Get a router.
