    trouble with audio on virtualdub

once again i am having troubles cutting .avi files.......when i try to cut the file in half in virtual dub it seems like everything is fine.....but when i goto play it in WMP i get fine sound for a little bit, but if i advance the movie, the sound doesnt match at all, and eventually the sound stops alltogether........i dont understand whats wrong, i made a 'direct stream copy' and pressed match audio and video under video--->frame rate......is there any way to fix this so i can put these type of files on disk?.......any help is appreciated as always.........scott
