    Angry My Backup Failed!

I AM SOOOOOOOOOO P.O'd!!!!!!! This is what I get for listening to what everyone says, that you have to backup, backup, backup! Well I put in one of my numerous back-up CD's in the CDROM drive not 5 min. ago to run an installer off of it, once I installed what I wanted to I ejected it, but then I remember that I also wanted to install something else off of the CD and now Windows keeps saying it's just a regular blank CD!!!!!!! And that it's got nothing on it!!!!!!!!!!! I am REALLY angry because their was months of stuff on it. Everything important was on that master CD, and now I can't get to it!!! Everything ranging from my Resumé to WinXP SP1 was on it!!!! And a lot of the stuff took me a loooooooooooong time to d/l using my dial-up!!!!!!!!! I tried the CD in my other CDROM drive but I got the same thing again! How is it that in less than 5 min. all the stuff on my CD is gone w/o me doing anything? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

how about u restart ur computer then put the cd in. usually works for me. oh and if u think this is bad, wait till u are using a cd ripping program and then both ur cd drives magically disappear from the computer. that is f***ing weird:mellow

I hate to say it, but 90% of tech support is "SHUT UP AND REBOOT"

Not to mention that if you HAD burned a CD as important as a backup, then you should have verified it with Nero etc for quality anyway.

To Krell & overdo: WHAT DO YOU THINK I'VE BEEN DOING?!?!?! I've rebooted 5 times! I've tried restarting and cold booting and yet nothing works!!!! I'm not that much of an idiot to not reboot. I burned the CD around 3 months ago and it worked fine in my computer and in a couple other computers I tried it in so don't give me that bullcrap that I should have verified it because I did, and it worked fine until around 5 min. ago. (Sorry if I sound rude but I'm really angry right now)

Rickio, thanks I'm downloading the program now.

if u said that it works with other comps, why not go to someone house, check if it works in their comp, if it works then ssave the file to a folder, then burn the folder, should work if u say that it works on other comps

Open Nero CD Speed > Extra > Scandisk.

Check the file and the sectors. If they are yellow or red, bad CD.

I wasnt insinuating your incompetence, its a matter of fact that at times Explorer can not access a removable device, and many times people are anxious and jump too quickly to wrong conclusions. I know I didnt appear to give you the credit you deserve.
