There seems to be some sort of conspiracy here...I buy these cdr's that says they are also for music but everytime I burn a music cd (not mp3's) from mp3's, the cd won't work on my stereo equipment...but it does work on my computer. I can't imagine it's my computer...I think it's the cd's. I've tried numerous brands. What's your experience with this?
Ummmm well . . like . . . I looked it up.
If you had done 1/2 a search, you would have discovered that stereo equipment and computers use a different format.
Im not going to go on and on about it. If you want to learn, start here.
Using the Nero Wave Editor, open the MP3, then FILE > Save As > and chose aiff format, and a name.
When you convert those 10 Mp3s to 10 aiffs, burn them (the aiffs) with Nero, and the CD will play in your boombox, or car stereo.
This is not the ONLY way, but since you are starting at the bottem, its the EASY way.
I usually just convert mp3 to wav first and i havent had any problems. Some burning programs mess up the converison and which is why they wont play, you get half of songs, and noise when playing them...
yes, if you like to waste time, that's a great way to goOriginally posted by Sephiroth

if you have nero, just do this, it takes all of 30 seconds choose cd click next, choose compiation disc click next, choose audio, click next, choose finish, drag + drop
click little cd on fire button
done
This step you shown here are the exact steps that I do that ends up with the useless cd...although the finished cd does work on the computer, it doesn't work on the stereo equipment.
Damn, I was going to let this one go...but it is bothering the hell out of me...Krell, your response to my question has an unmistakeable "smart-ass" tone to it...You remind me of the typical smart ass know it all tech-saavy I am the god type...if it bothers you so much and my lack of doing a 1/2 attempt to look for my answer bothers you...then don't answer my question...jesus christ.
are you choosing "data" in step 3? that will make an mp3 disc that won't work on most home playersOriginally posted by eschelon

also are you using cd-rw's? they also won't work on most home systems
Nope. I choose the cd compilation option. Also, I only use the CDRs...not the CDRW. I have used other cd brands in the past that have worked just fine on my stereo equipment. I also know that the Nero program is converting the MP3 files because the ~15 songs that I "drag" into the file to burn window shows the amount of data size that takes up the whole cd ~700 mb.
What I am going to try tonight is to first convert the MP3 files as a wav format then burn the cd using the wav files...hopefully this will work.
I had the similar problem too. Maxwell CD's wont play in one of my walkmans.Originally posted by eschelon

I cannot tell you 100% that I chose the "finalize cd" option...but with the prolific and useful suggestions posted by you fine Zeropaid members, I am sure going to try tonight.
You are 100% correct.
However, you cant seem to figure it out, you have a nominal technical knowledge, and even after being shown HOW to do it, you cop an attitude.
Meanwhile, I can convert those files, and burn a CD that will play on a boombox or car audio in less time than it takes you to read this.
I share a house with a musician, he and his friends have the same level of non technical savvy that you do, and I burn their shitty audio CDs for them.
Seeing as your too lazy to do your own research, and the simple free way is just insulting to you, let me post the results of quick search for you, here is your extra 5 minutes:

Now these are the most "dumbed-down" links at a glance, but they all seem to have one thing in common, the need to convert an MP3 to an uncompressed .CDA format, so that a standard CD player knows what the hell is going on, unlike you.
Next time you need support, spend a few hundred hours researching and burning yourself, and dont ask us smart-asses for help, you lazy . . . .
I have been having similar problems as I posted in my "Sony DRU-500a" thread. We kind of got off topic. Basicly problem was that I switched CD burners and now it plays on some stand alone CD players and not on others even when I finalize. I'm gonna try to convert to aiff manually, but I don't think it's going to make a hill of beans difference. I've burned like ten CDs without any compatibility difference whatsoever.
I'm gonna go to imation I think when I'm done with these off brandies. For the money, I think those are definately the best. Hopefully that solves my problems.

Krell, you need to shut the hell up. I don't welcome your smart ass condescending help. You need to stop "helping" people with your wonderful wit and personality. God knows, you definitely fit the personaility profile of a secluded, single white male, who lacks basic social skills who spends most of his time on a computer, and is sexually frustrated, a virgin not by choice, and finds the need to belittle, berate, and insult anyone who doesn't muster the necessary intelligence prerequisite of your deluded sense of your own intellect or ideas. :cross :cross
eschelon, if you didn't want techies on your ass....then don't ask them for help....being talked down to by 'us' is the price you pay for free support, I suppose.
And heres your answer....you could have Googled it up fairly quick....or just used common sense to root out the annoyances behind your problem.
USE DIFFERENT MEDIA! If what you used in the past worked....use it again...if it still works....try the new media...if it fails you know one dye works and the other dye type doesn't.
Basically stick to the same brand or the same colored (dye) media you've been successful with in the past.
How freakin' hard is that? Not very....
Someone could have said that ages ago....
Edit: If you 'kids' can't relax and act civil I'll close this thread as you've already had your answer(s)...start a new one if you wish to fight some more, (that will get closed too....)your better off PMing each other with your lame dick fencing. Cuz it won't be tolerated in the main forum.
