Hey guyz, i encoded the movie to mpeg and did exactly wat the website http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/timelinesynch.htm
told me to do. But still i am having the same synch problems. At the last part of the movie, at the credits, i could still hear the hero and heroin speaking. :mellow
i am really lost for solutions :shy
I played the original avi file tt i downloaded and noticed the same problem !
hey guyz, pls help me, i really wish to record this movie !
nick
Hi nick088
If the problem pre-exists, then dont try to encode it to mpg, it will just inherit the problem.
Use VirtualDub to resync the movie, it will require that you reencode the audio and takes a lot of experimentation. Basically you have no idea what the file size is untill you are done. Bottem line, keep trying. Dont reencode the audio at 320K . . .
Youre gonna have to do some reading this week.
Wait for CCSDUDE or digitaljunkie, or other media peeps, see what they say.
Read what this guy says,
http://nickyguides.digital-digest.com/audio-synch.htm
And here's the program he uses
http://www.divx-digest.tv/nicky/avinfo_1.2a.zip
I have used this program for years and it will always work if you are willing to put the effort into it. If you really don't care that much about the movie you have, or you think that you can get a different version that isn't screwed up, it's probably not worth the headache of screwing around with audio delay and frame rates for hours.
You might get lucky and virtualdub can fix it in 2 minutes just by doing direct stream copy.

1) Open said file in Vdub...
2) Video menu > Framerate
3) Change so Video an Audio Durations Match...
Set the video to direct stream copy as well as the audio....save a copy and play it. If the problem isn't solved then the video/audio is fucked up somewhere down the line...in which case you have to...either..
A) Download a new copy or a different copy of said file...
B) Waste loads of time finding the bad sections and cutting on a keyframe before it...direct stream copying both audio and video then moving ahead and cutting the start on another keyframe after then appending both segments together. This will ultimately annoy the viewer when it skips past 20 some frames or whatever.
C) If the audio is out of sync from start to finish you'll have to play with "Interleaving" in the audio menu....back and forth till you find the sweet spot. A hassle to say the least....
D) Go out and buy the freakin' movie....I've never seen anyone have so much trouble with a simple outta sync video.....your better off paying the 20 for a DVD and kicking back with some popcorn in front of a real TV....
Also, don't blame it on those guides....if they didn't walk you through right tons of people would be bitching about it on their forum as well as any other A/V related ones....and that's just not happening...so the problem lies with how you're doing things.

...and finally, keep in mind that capturing digital video requires HUGE amounts of system resources.
90% of the problems people experience with digital video are caused by inadequate hardware. The other 10% is lack of experience using the software.
Make sure your hard drive is at LEAST a 7200rpm (personally, I wouldn't even dream of trying to capture a full movie unless I had a 1300 rpm SCSI drive). It can be done with a 7200 rpm drive - lots of people do it. Just not me.
Make sure that your drive has recently been defragged and checked for errors. Make sure that there is LOTS and LOTS of room on your hard drive (at least triple the amount needed for the final product).
Also, make sure you have at least a 500 Mhz Pentium 3 or Athalon processor (Don't even try with a cheap celeron or duron). Not less than 512 mb of ram.
Capture the movie in two or four segments and then splice them together using a video editor.
If you are only going to view this on a hard drive, alter the settings in your capture software. Capture at 20 or 15 frames per second. Use 352 x 240 instead of full screen.
Reading the instructions and help files of software programs helps.

K, guyz, i have to admit the instructions from http://nickyguides.digital-digest.com/audio-synch.htm
is fantasic, i did until the part where i had to Multiplex the audio with the video. K, after saving the avi, i checked the movie. And great, its still in the same condition. The audio and video r out of sync. well, then i thought maybe i should convert it to mpeg, maybe the problem would be fixed, then i spent the whole night doing tt. Still the same problem. I am really confused man, i did exactly wat the instruction told me to, stretch the audio and Multiplex with the video back. But, to be honest this program is awesome. I spent hours adjusting the frame rate and got it right, in sync with the audio. But i still dun get it. Why is the the sync problem there even thought have stretched the audio. Hey guyz, i am really very sorry, if i have annoyed u all. I really want to fix this. I am really very gratefull to u guyz ! :fire
Right now, i am doign wat CCSDUDE told me to do, which is :
1) Open said file in Vdub...
2) Video menu > Framerate
3) Change so Video an Audio Durations Match...
Hey CCSDude, sorry, ur method doesen't work :mellow

Hi nick088
Always try to keep this in the original thread so we can follow the history.
I applaud you for having the internal fortitude to try to solve your problem, and not just try to get fast food.
CCSDUDE propose that you do a least effort thing, first, but as you found out, sometimes, an all nighter will still not produce results.
Please PM with the file name, and your EXACT file size.
Either
A: I may already have it fixed, or
B: I can give it a try.
k, 10x alot man
hmm, this is kind of strange, i just searched the file in kazaa lite, and the results show that the exact file is,
nick
a meg being 1024 k and a k being 1024 bytes and kazaa rounding the way it does
don't mind me I'm just markin time nick, I don't know the answer to your real question, just the one about why 10 bits is slightly more than a decimal comma
hey guyz, i am very sorry, i posted this information here. very sorry ! :mellow

We have some slick moderators here, if it turns out to be anything valuable in this thread they will leave it or merge it with the other one, just remember for next time (Really you just aren't lazy enough yet, give it time)
Done.
Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be.
If you dont mind, go back and remove the name and file size, that's why I asked you to PM me.
Secondly, those numbers do not make sense, they are not the same.
Your two choices are the 676.8 Mb, or, 686.66Mb.
The most popular file size is 676.8
so, krell wat should i do now. Anyway, i have pm u !
Must i re-download the file again ?
nick
If the one you have is screwed up, then what are you going to do? The fastest thing to do, would be to download it again.
If the file was really screwed up, I suspect someone would have renamed it to "shitty copy"
Another thing, before I delete this post, is for you to bookmark this link, and use it.
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/j.bucha...mx/movies.html
memorize this, using calculator
700,500,000 x 1024 ENTER x 1024 ENTER
and
735,000,000 \ 1024 ENTER \ 1024 ENTER
You can convert any file size info with this
Otherwise, I would delete the defunk one, and try again.
