    Unhappy eDonkey Spies??

I was recently contacted by my ISP because of a complaint for using eDonkey. Apparently, someone claimed I was guilty of copyright infringement because I was sharing files on my hard drive. Does anyone know of any situation where this had occurred in the past? They managed to get my IP, the port I was using, and the filename and size.

I'm hesitant to contact edonkey because there might be some collusion involved. I know you guys are up-to-date on these issues so whatever information you can provide will be appreciated.

I don't know a lot about this but I do know that several members here have gotten letters from their ISPs similar to yours. I think most of the people got letters regarding kazaa though. I am pretty sure it has nothing to do with anybody that works for edonkey or anything but it is someone that works for your ISP that "spied" on you. These other people that got these letters said at first they stopped sharing files but as time passed they started to share more and more files and some even got a second later but they continued to share and nothing else happened so I don't think you have anything to worry about. Out of curiosity, what is your ISP, I think the other peoples' ISPs were AT&T and Comcast.

    imho
i would have thought its more likely that its a person working on behalf of the copyright holder who is running the edonkey/emule client and scanning your shared files as opposed to your isp or or edonkey itself i think they already got some ppl on edonkey in denmark about 6 months ago or so

I know that awhile back Bay TSP was using eMule to try to scan
my files. They were pretty persistent for a couple of days straight.

its their first post--what's with you and conspiracy theories? don't you think the RIAA has better things to do than infiltrate zeropaid? christ the guy asked a simple question--if you don't want to answer it, don't, but don't go throwing idiotic implications around.

I have to agree with Notbob. *Everyone* here has had a "first post", My Name, including you. Just because someone doesn't have 845635926785 posts doesn't mean they can't produce a cognitive thought.
