    Smile ISPs Upload/Download Limit

To all p2p program developers: Some users have their ISP capping a limit on Upload/Download, it would be nice to have a feature to keeping track of updated total size of upload & download and provide a warning before they reached their limits, like a warning message box that tells you that you have reached 75% or 80% of your limit, which a user can specified.

This would help p2p file sharing, and appreciated!

It's not a bad idea but your best bet is to get something that counts everything that goes in and out on TCP/IP and UDP so that you have an accurate collective figure for all data in and out. If you're using windows try running ZoneAlarm all the time, this keeps a track of how much traffic has come in and gone out from your computer in total. (in the 'alerts' window). Still, it's always good to give the user a lot of notification and control, so in principal, I agree with you. ;)

Thanks for posting a replyI I do use a free NetStatLive program from AnalogX to keep track of my Internet usage. The reason I believe it would also help p2p file sharing is you can also change your upload/download settings to stay connected. Even with program such as eDonkey2000 that have anti-leeching feature so even if you are not sharing any file on your hard disk, it will upload the files that you are downloading. Personally, I've setup a external hard drive with 120GB capacity just so I could share with anyone on the network! Keep sharing, everyone wins!!!
