    Dual Boot Problems

    I recently tried to do a duel bott with win2000 server and win xp.
    I had winxp installed originally. When I setup win2000 I made a new partition.
    Now after the install win xp worked but not win2000.
    So I deleted the whole partition to uninstall it. But now whenever I start my computer It ask if I want to use XP or Server at the boot screen. How can I get rid of that screen so XP starts when i start my computer.

    First, you back up your C:\Boot.ini, make a copy, maybe put on floppy.

    You Right click on My Computer, go to Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings > Edit.

    This is what mine looks like, dont use this exact same one if you dont have Pro.

    [boot loader]
    timeout=30
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOW S
    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Micro soft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect

    Delete the line(s) that refer to W2000

    Make sure the Default= line points to your Win XP installation

    Save & Exit.

    There are articles online that you can print out, and check the Microsoft knowledge base.

    This site also had some decent Dual boot articles, and other tweaks.
