    DSL Speed up

Ok well we my dad has a friend, the dsl in this area didnt work well for him so he has his modem left (we dont pay for them but they didnt want it back either). now i believe DSL goes by line speed and distance from ISPs server, not by modem but if i am wrong would it be possible to run 2 modems on 1 line either with a 2nd NIC or a router built with 2 WAN ports?

Lol...it would be nice, but i also have a ps2 on the net and if they each had their own modem...couldnt they in theory have a higher speed and or better ping when using both at once?
Twice the speed would be nice but very unlikely, to me even though its relatively fast any more speed at all would be nice, especially since we only get 128 up which really sucks for the other ppl on kaza, i used to have many great files til i had to format my C: drive

only if you have 2 phone lines and pay for dsl on both of them

dsl modems relay a signal to your computer, having more won't give more signal

No, it wont give you more signal, but you can hook up more then 1 machine to your DSL or Cable line(Cable is an absolute headache though) for gaming purposes and it will not effect the ping (well negligibly)

Just make sure you do not have any uploads/filesharing etc,
I wouldnt recommend running 2 machines off of a dial up connection for gaming though.

But on DSL, have at it, get a hub, hook your modem into the hub and your ready to go.

I already have a hub and all i was just hoping i might be able to find a better ping somehow lol, and i dont run filesharing apps when gaming, they slow you down whether your downloading/ uploading or not, also i have already tried gaming on 56 and for most games its a lost cause
