could anybody tell me why shareaza is so slow at downloading i've also got kazaa lite which is reasonably fast but shareaza just takes the pi$$

Well there is a simple anwser to that. Shareaza sucks. Though it depends on what kind of files you are looking for (games,music,movies?)
If music then you should stick with Kazaa lite.
If games then go download Emule.
For movies .. well.. I haven't figured out which one is best for movies. But I guess both Emule and Kazaa lite would do good.

Well, it depends on how many sources you have for the file you're trying to download, how many g2 hubs you are connected to, and how fast your connection is that determines how fast you're going to be able to download at. I don't suggest using kazaa lite. Emule is alright, if you don't mind waiting in long queus. Piolet is good if you just want music. etc etc.
