    AOL and P2P

I am testing P2P on AOL.

Nothing works. Kazaa cannot even connect, cannot traceroute, cannot use Internet Explorer.

Does anyone know what the deal is?

Is there any P2P app that will work with AOL?

I have used AOL for 2 years now....
    I use 7 P2Ps, never had a problem connecting at all...ever.
I would say look at something else blocking you.

I had AOL for about 3 months then i got DSL, But i never had trouble with Kazaa or Internet Explorer, I also think something else is blocking you, perhaps a firewall?

Years ago I had AOL. It was the 16 bit version, and I couldn't connect to IE. I couldn't even download stuff and go to different web pages. I finally got the 32 bit version, it took a bigger toll on my old Pentium 100 with 8MB RAM, but it allowed me to use Napster and stuff.
People on my "cool list" in no particular order.

I heard that AOL is running after P2P users and closing their accounts without even calling their users. They monitor their traffic and know ahead of time before receiving a letter from the RIAA that a user is doing P2P because of the bandwith usage. Thats cool cause in the end, AOL will loose all of their customers!

Well to be honest some ISPs deserve it.

They advertise on TV yeah you can download 10 times faster than dial up and they keep on saying about games and music. But when you sign up they claiom you cant do it b/c of copyright. So if any ISP takes anyone to court in England I'd laugh if the judge said it's the ISPs fault for enticing them into an act that they might not have done previously :fire

theres are 100s of legitimate sites for downloading music and videos there is virtually ZERO chance of an ISP in England being held accountable for illegal downloads by its customers on the basis that it advertises its product as being suitable for downloading this kind of material

    Exclamation Problem with AOL

AOL user for 4 yrs never had a problem.

Check your Parental Settings. If you have a firewall check the programs that you are blocking. Normal programs that you use on a regular basis can be filtered. Any programs needs permission to connect to the internet.

I'm sure this is something simple.
